So yesterday was quite the day. On Tuesday Chris went golfing, and his right leg got hurt. He was making a bunker shot and slightly rolled his ankle, which resulted in a massive amount of subcutaenous tissue being pushed out of his leg at one of his pin sights. When he woke up yesterday morning, we took one look at it and knew it wasn't "normal". We header to the emergency room to get it checked out. Once there, the ER docs called our Ortho Team to come take a look at it. After several hours of waiting, and having the Ortho Team come and go, they cut off the excess tissue and cauterized the site with silver nitrate. It took a very long time, but at least that creepy looking stuff is gone. I just had to take a picture of it before they cut it off. It's kind of blurry but all the red stuff was the tissue that got cut off.
We didn't let the long day in ER ruin our eveing plans though! We had plan to go to dinner with our friends The Andersons at Texas de Brazil. So after going back for a little rest we got dressed and headed out to dinner with them. Great food, great company, all in all a great night. And I even got a picture of Chris and I, since I seem to be horrible about doing that lately! I was very happy to have an excuse to wear a dress :)

Courtside
This past Saturday, we got tickets to go to the Spurs vs. Bobcats game. Our tickets were courtside, row 1 center court! $1100 tickets, and we got two for free! It was pretty awesome sitting up there, I was actually into the game and felt like I was a part of the action. When you can feel the stomp on the ground as they run passed you, and get a breeze from it, you know you are right there! It is crazy watching them sit there and warm up before th game, close enough to make eye contact and to talk to them if you wanted to.
Only once it looked like the ball might fly over and hit me, and you could see us up on the TV several times throughout the game. Overall, we had a great time!

Yuck..Yuck..YUCK!!!
So it's official, cock roaches are my kryptonite. I fear them very much and have no problem with admitting that. Now that it is getting hot here again they seem to have no problem showing their creepy little faces. Last week one morning I woke up to go to the bathroom first thing in the morning. I didn't have my contacts in or my glasses on yet, so I wwas as blind as a bat. As I am sitting there on the toilet I see a black thing move on the ground. I can't really see much but I know it has to be a roach. So I run to put my glasses on and come back. And sure enough I am right so I grab a shoe and smoosh it. As much as I have become accustomed to killing them, I can not bring myself to pick them up and dispose of them. So I left it there and told Chris he needed to get rid of it when he woke up. That same morning, when Chris left for PT, I once again was going to the bathroom. I looked up in horror to see a very large cock roach roaming around a shelf in the shower! To actually see one climb that high up in my room sent me over the edge! It was so disgusting I took a picture of it.
YUCK! I know. So I grabbed my bottle of hair spray and a very large shoe and tried to gather some courage. I sprayed it to try and get it to move so I could hit it. When that didn't work I used the shoe and knocked pretty much everything off the shelves and then began spraying and wacking it as it ran around the shower frantically, all while I was screaming at the top of my lungs! I am quite surprised no one came knocking on my door to see what was wrong! So now I was left with a large smooshed bug in ym shower, and I for one was not going to move it! So it stayed there until Chris got back.
Then three nights ago Chris went to the bathroom and saw one even bigger then that. He wa sin his wheel chair and was wacking it with the toilet plunger as it ran. Sooooo glad he got that oen and not me. Then
two nights ago as he was telling me about this story I look down to see yet another one standing on the floor. I killed it and gathered all the trash and had Chris take it outside with me. That night I tossed and turned dreaming of roaches crawling on me! I officially have PTSD from them and can not wait to get out of this place!

Sea World
So this past weekend we got free tickets to Sea World. I have never been in my life, so I of course was thrilled! We saw the Azul Show (has birds, the beluga whale, dolphins, and acrobats), the Shamu Show, and a Sea Lion and Walrus show. I loved them all, and we plan to go back again on a day a little less busy so we can do more and see more!
Here are some of my highlights of the day:
1. I saw a whale in person for the first time in my life. They are huge! And amazing!
2. Seeing an orca whale spin on its back like it's break dancing is great!
3. I saw a walrus doing sit-ups! Great work-out motivation ;)
4. I saw a turtle bravely sitting on an alligator's head!
5. We discovered a shark with a terrible over bite. LoL, totally the redneck shark of the tank.
6. At the dolphin tank a dolphin was within inches of my finger. He was teasing me, so next time I am going with fish so I can actually touch them!
7. There was a very cool ;looking fish with like geometric lines all over it, and he sure did like examining us through the glass too!
♥ Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. ♥

Coins
Last week we had a few visitors down at BAMC. On Tuesday we saw 1SG Davis and his family. They came down for a day or two and saw us and the Ochoas. Then on Thursday SGT Major Kinloch came and had lunch with us and others from the unit who are also down here. It is always good when people like this come and visit. It makes me feel good knowing they still think of us and are concerned with how we are doing. I really do like our SGT Major. He is a good guy. And the fact that he made a point of asking my imput as a spouse and what thing could be improved for the family of soldiers in regards to deployment and if your soldier is wounded, was great. So many times we (the spouses/families) and our opionons are put to the way side and rarely do I feel as though how I think or feel is really considered. So I have a lot of respect for him for actual listening to what I had to say. And hearing his appreciation of the wives here, and the thanks he gave us for what we do meant the world. Even if you know you are appreciated, it means a million times more to hear it.
Then at the end of the meeting he coinded all of us. This is my second time being coined (both times by a SGT Major) so that is pretty cool. And I really like our brigade's coin! Then SGT Major had me coin the 4ID NCOIC (Non-Commisioned Officer In Charge) which was awesome since he is always giving me a hard time. So I can always hold it over his head that I coined him :)
These are the two coin's I have gotten:
